FRSC officials safely deliver baby girl on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (photos)

Today, officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission took delivery of a baby girl while her mum was travelling on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

According to a statement by Route Commander Florence Okpe FRSC Public Education officer Ogun State Command, "at about1200hrs, a commercial vehicle with registration number XF 365 MKD on transit along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway drove into the FRSC Command premises and the driver reported that one middle aged woman by name Ajoke Ahmed, a passenger in vehicle had gone into deep labour'.

Teenage boy who escaped police detention in Bayelsa sentenced to 40 strokes of cane and six weeks of community service (photos)

A 17-year-old boy who escaped from the Bayelsa State police detention has been sentenced to 40 strokes of the cane and six weeks of community service. The young boy had been arrested for stealing a cell phone and a bicycle, but he escaped through the broken ceiling at a police detention facility before he was rearrested and arraigned.

According to reports, the juvenile was found guilty of stealing a mobile phone, a bicycle and escaping from police detention at the Yenagoa magistrate court on the 27th of September.

Some student of The Yaba College of Education (YABATECH) have lamented being terrorized by bedbugs in their hostels since the beginning of this year.

A new student of the school who spoke to The Nation newspaper, said he was told upon entering the hostel by a senior student that he would have to disinfect his mattress as they were all filled with bedbugs. More injuries were added when students started seeing the bugs in their classrooms.
