A former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell, has described former President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife, Patience, as being arrogant and flamboyant when she was Nigeria’s first lady.

Pastor Rabalango is said to have invited the deceased to the podium and asked her to lie down. He ordered his ushers to carry a big speaker and put on her stomach saying the weight would not harm her.

Tunisian Minister of Health dies after sporting event

Tunisian Minister of Health Slim Chaker has died. He died today after a heart attack, a medical source from the military hospital in Tunis said.

On Sunday morning, the Tunisian minister had participated in a sporting event in Nabeul, 60 km from Tunis, before losing consciousness suddenly.

Slim Chaker was appointed to his position in the reshuffle decided by the Head of Government and approved in mid-September 2017.

5 year old Blue Ivy is Beyoncé and Jay-Z's eldest child. They are also parents to baby twins Rumi and son Sir, who were born in June 2017.

Three Islamic clerics arrested in possession of human parts in Ogun State

The Ogun State Police Command on Sunday paraded three self-acclaimed Islamic clerics who were arrested for possession of human parts, alleged rituals, and murder. The suspects are  Adebayo Mudashiru (36), Raheed Abass (33) and Rasaq Adenekan (42).

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Ilyasu, who paraded the suspects at the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, headquarters in Abeokuta said they were arrested on October 5.

Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti shut down indefinitely after violent protest

On Sunday, the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti was shut indefinitely following the violent protest by students over the death of two of them that led to trouble on the institution’s campus late Friday when two of the students reportedly complained of malaria.

According to reports, they were said to have been rushed to the Polytechnic Health Centre for treatment, but their condition later became worse. They died in the early hours of Saturday.

Movie producer Harvey Weinstein fired from his own company after sexual harassment allegations

Harvey Weinstein has been fired from his own company, which he founded, amid allegations that he sexually harassed women for decades. The Board of Directors of The Weinstein Company issued a statement Saturday night in regards to the several rape accusations:
"In light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days, the directors of The Weinstein Company ... have determined, and have informed Harvey Weinstein, that his employment with The Weinstein Company is terminated, effective immediately."

The National Youth  Service  Corps (NYSC) has said at least 8, 000 corps members presently serving in Anambra will be available for the forthcoming governorship election in the state. 

Ebenezer Olawale, the NYSC Coordinator in the state on Sunday said the data of corps members in the state had been transmitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for planning ahead of the November 18, 2017  election.

Federal Government denies alleged deliberate injection of Monkey Pox Virus

The Federal Government has described as fake and sinister the report that the outbreak of Monkey Pox in some parts of the country resulted from the alleged free medical care by the government in the affected areas.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said Nigerians should disregard the report which, apparently, is being spread by some unscrupulous persons to fit into a sinister agenda.

Woman cuts off neighbour’s tongue in Lagos state

Alhaji Abass Street, Ogudu, Lagos State, has turned into a theatre of the absurd after a 29-year-old resident, identified simply as Biodun, allegedly cut off the tongue of her confidant, Babangida Sulyman. It was learnt that 23-year-old Babangida was an errand boy to the unmarried woman, helping her to buy food and deliver messages.

They both reside in the same compound, where the incident happened last Tuesday. While Babangida lives with his mother, Biodun squats with her married elder sister.

Assemblies of God church pastor and his 21-year-old daughter arrested for stabbing a nurse to death

Esom Jehovah, a pastor of Assemblies of God Church in Imo, alongside his 21-year-old daughter, have been arrested for stabbing a nurse to death in Umuohiagu Autonomous Community of Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo state.

According to reports, the victim approached the pastor over a missing phone battery and charger a neighbour gave to her to charge. The pastor’s daughter allegedly stole the items which were allegedly found with her later.

The Police Command in Ebonyi had confirmed that Chinedu Linus, a student of Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki, was killed by gunmen on Friday.

The Spokesperson of the command, ASP Loveth Odah, said that the gunmen robbed Linus and subsequently killed him. “I urge students not to confront robbers or any person bearing arms whenever they are attacked because such a person was no longer normal.

Six killed, 35 injured in explosions at gas station in Ghana (photos)

At least six people have reportedly died while 35 others injured in explosions at Atomic Junction, near Legon, Accra, Ghana in Saturday night. National Fire Service spokesman Billy Anaglatey, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, said:

"As we speak, six people are dead due to this fire," he said, adding that 35 were injured by the Saturday night explosions. Four of the 35 are in critical condition at the intensive care unit of the 37 Military Hospital.
