Autopsy reveals Davido and Caroline Danjuma's friend, Tagbo, died of too much alcohol consumption

The result of the autopsy carried out on 35-year-old Tagbo Umeike, the friend of Davido and actress Caroline Danjuma, has been released and according to the result, Tagbo died from the consumption of too much alcohol.

Gunmen shoot ten persons dead in Rivers state

No fewer than 10 persons have been killed in an attack carried out by unknown gunmen in Mgbosimiri, Agip axis of Port Harcourt, Rivers State in the early hours of today October 9th. The reason behind the attack is yet unknown.

Confirming the attack, the state police public relations officers, Nnamdi Omoni, said the police has moved into the area to restore peace while investigations into the incident have begun. He added that the police is yet to ascertain the number of casualties.

Meanwhile, the remains of the dead persons have been deposited at the state morgue.

Nigerian Customs has seized 497,279 bags of rice in two years

Between 2015 and August 2017, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) says it has seized 497,279 bags of imported rice with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N3.8 billion.

The Comptroller-General of the service, Hameed Ali said that 90,073 bags of rice were seized in 2015 with DPV of N693 million while 280,109 bags of rice were impounded in 2016 with DPV of N2.156 billion. He added that between January and August 2017, no fewer than 127,097 bags of rice were seized with DPV of N978 million.

Five feared dead, many injured as Super Eagles defeat Zambia in Uyo

Five people were feared dead while scores sustained serious injuries on Saturday following a stampede at the entrance of Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital. The incident occurred while football enthusiasts tried to enter the stadium.

The fans, who were at the stadium to watch a match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Chipolopo of Zambia  were allegedly beaten  by soldiers at the gates of the stadium with heavy sticks.
