Seven people recover fully from Monkeypox In Bayelsa State

Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the Bayels state Commissioner for Information confirms that Seven out of the 13 patients infected by Monkey pox and admitted at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital in the state have fully recovered.

In a statement released Wednesday in Yenagoa, he said the recovered patients have been discharged from the hospital. He also said that the other six patients under medical surveillance were responding positively to treatment.

"I went into robbery to raise N300k my wife's family was asking for as bride price" armed robbery suspect says

A robbery suspect identified as Chukwuma Okoro, has confessed that he attempted to rob in order to raise N300,000 to pay the bride price of his wife who ran away from his home. Okoro was among four robbery suspects arrested and paraded Wednesday by the Ondo State Police Command yesterday October 11th.  Other suspects paraded are Ezenwa Raphael, Chukwudi Oruma and Thomas Onofuapo.

No recorded case of Monkey Pox in Ogun state – State Commissioner for Health shutdown claims

The Ogun state government has shut down a report of cases of monkeypox in the state. The state Commissioner for Health, Babatunde Ipaye, dismissed the claim at a press conference which held in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) declared that 31 suspected cases of monkeypox had so far been reported in seven states, including Ogun.

300 Boko Haram suspects remanded In prison as mass trials continue

On Tuesday, 300 Boko Haram suspects were officially remanded in prison custody as hearings got underway in the first mass trials linked to the Islamist insurgency. 

The media has been banned on security grounds from attending proceedings at four civilian courts set up in a military base in Kainji, in central Niger State.  But the justice ministry said in a statement that three separate cases, each involving 100 defendants, were heard in three of the courts.

This afternoon at the press conference where  Lagos State Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal revealed that Davido's friend Tagbo Umeike died of Asphyxia (suffocation), he referred to Nollywood actress, Caroline Danjuma as the 'fiancee' of late Tagbo.

A Nigerian soldier, Salo Roseline Tamarabrakemi  was killed in an accident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Tuesday evening, October 10... just hours before her birthday.

It was gathered that a vehicle rammed into her motorcycle, killing her instantly. Just five hours before her tragic death,  Tamarabrakemi had taken to her Facebook to share her excitement as she prepares to celebrate her birthday.

Two of Davido's boys who dropped late Tagbo Umeike at the hospital have been arrested

Two of the young men who dropped late Tagbo Umeike at the hospital on October 2nd have been arrested by the Lagos State police command, a source close to the situation said.

The men, who were with Tagbo the night they were all partying to celebrate Tagbo's birthday, were arrested today after Davido brought them himself to see the commissioner of Police in Ikeja who then ordered their arrest following preliminary investigation.

Davido re-invited for questioning after autopsy reveals Tagbo died of suffocation

David Adeleke, aka Davido is under fire for lying to the police that he did not know how his deceased friend, Tagbo, got to the Lagos General Hospital’s premise. Today, at a press conference by Lagos State Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal where he spoke on the death of Tagbo Umeike and also announced that Davido has been re-invited for questioning.

According to the commissioner, Davido said he was informed of Tagbo's death by a mutual friend while he was at DNA night Club. Further investigation by the police also revealed that Tagbo was taken to the hospital by Davido's driver (Tunde Yusuf) and two of Davido's friends.

Federal Government initiates process to ban medical doctors working in public hospitals from engaging in private practice

The Federal Government today revealed that doctors in public service would be banned from engaging in private practice elsewhere, and the process to make this a reality has been kicked off.

Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole affirmed this to newsmen, stating that it was the decision of the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Buhari earlier today.
