Road Safety Official dies after being intentionally knocked down by an aggressive driver in Abuja

An FRSC official has died after he was knocked down by a driver, and according to reports, it was no accident.

James Adamu Kalaa, a fellow FRSC official who shared the story, said the driver knocked down his colleague "intentionally". The sad incident happened yesterday around Idu airport in Abuja.

Georgia woman allegedly kills 17 year old boy for impregnating her daughter

A Georgia woman, Paw Law, has been arrested for allegedly killing her pregnant daughter's 17 year old fiancé while they were all having breakfast. Paw Law, pictured above, fired several rounds at 17-year-old Nyatole Eh while he and his pregnant bride-to-be visited her home on Oct. 8.

Eh was lying on the floor with the weapon near his head, while his fiancée, Madya Be, and her sister, Muchon Kaw, were kneeling over his body, when police arrived on the scene.

Seven people recover fully from Monkeypox In Bayelsa State

Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the Bayels state Commissioner for Information confirms that Seven out of the 13 patients infected by Monkey pox and admitted at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital in the state have fully recovered.

In a statement released Wednesday in Yenagoa, he said the recovered patients have been discharged from the hospital. He also said that the other six patients under medical surveillance were responding positively to treatment.

A robbery suspect identified as Chukwuma Okoro, has confessed that he attempted to rob in order to raise N300,000 to pay the bride price of his wife who ran away from his home. Okoro was among four robbery suspects arrested and paraded Wednesday by the Ondo State Police Command yesterday October 11th.  Other suspects paraded are Ezenwa Raphael, Chukwudi Oruma and Thomas Onofuapo.

No recorded case of Monkey Pox in Ogun state – State Commissioner for Health shutdown claims

The Ogun state government has shut down a report of cases of monkeypox in the state. The state Commissioner for Health, Babatunde Ipaye, dismissed the claim at a press conference which held in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) declared that 31 suspected cases of monkeypox had so far been reported in seven states, including Ogun.

300 Boko Haram suspects remanded In prison as mass trials continue

On Tuesday, 300 Boko Haram suspects were officially remanded in prison custody as hearings got underway in the first mass trials linked to the Islamist insurgency. 

The media has been banned on security grounds from attending proceedings at four civilian courts set up in a military base in Kainji, in central Niger State.  But the justice ministry said in a statement that three separate cases, each involving 100 defendants, were heard in three of the courts.
