The Family of a friend of Davido and Caroline Danjuma's lover, Tagbo Umeike, has released an official statement, concerning his death and all the controversies it's generated. The statement released by Mrs Araka on behalf of the family, says recent development have shown that there is more to the death of their son and that they would ensure that the truth of the matter comes to light. Pharmacist files N200m lawsuit against Evans' kidnap victim, Donatus Dunu

A Lagos-based pharmacist, Emeka Egbulugha, has commenced a N200m libel lawsuit against one of Evans’ victims, Chief Donatus Dunu. Dunu, who is the Chief Executive Officer of a pharmaceutical company, Maydon Pharmaceutical Limited, had been kidnapped by Evans’ gang on his way home in the evening of February 14, this year.

The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of €1m from Dunu’s family, threatening to kill him if the money was not provided.

1.8 million Boko Haram IDPs not ready to return home

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) says 1.8 million persons displaced by Boko Haram insurgency are unwilling to return to their ancestral communities soon in the North-East.

The Secretary-General of the Council, Mr Jan Egeland, made this known while presenting the report on situation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), in Maiduguri.

Supreme Court adjourns former NSA, Sambo Dasuki’s appeal to January 25, 2018

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki’s appeal to January 25th 2018. Dasuki is asking the Supreme Court to compel the Federal Government to obey the bail orders granted to him by the Federal High Court Abuja and obey ECOWAS CCJ Judgement that ordered his immediate release on bail.

Dasuki is standing trial for allegedly misappropriating $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of arms.

An Oredo Magistrate Court has remanded one Amadin Eurice to prison custody for allegedly inserting pepper into the private part of a minor, a six-year-old simply identified as Patience.

Police Prosecutor, Patrick Agbonifo, informed the court that the offences were punishable under section 355 of the Criminal Code, Cap 48, Vol. II Laws of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria 1976 as applicable in Edo State and section 23(1) of the NAPTIP Act 2015.

A Zimbabwean activist has been arrested after calling 93-year-old President Robert Mugabe "a dead man walking", lawyers said, in the latest case of authorities cracking down on dissent.

Mr Sten Zvorwadza, the leader of a street vendor's union, was charged with insulting or undermining the president in a press interview where he was also quoted as saying that Mr Mugabe was "old" and "day-dreaming".

The 25-year-old Nigerian man, Ibrahim O. Badmus, killed by South Africa police officers on Tuesday, October 10th in Vanderbijlpark triangle in South Africa, was a student. Badmus was an undergraduate at  Vaal University of Technology in Vanderbijlpark in South Africa.

The Police officers stormed Badmus's home with claims that he was trafficking drugs. However, when they searched his home, they could not find any drug in it. They allegedly asked the deceased for money and when he could not give them money, they handcuffed him and used excessive pepper spray on him. He passed out and died due to suffocation.

17 year old teenage boy stabs 25 year old man to death in Kaduna state

Both men had a disagreement in Tundun Wada in Zaria, Kaduna state yesterday October 11th and the 17-year-old in anger picked up a scissor and stabbed the 25-year-old man to death. He stabbed the deceased in the chest. The deceased has been deposited at the state morgue.
