Some residents of Jahun local government area in Jigawa state yesterday received the N5,000 promised by President Buhari when he was campaigning for president in 2015. President Buhari had promised to give N5,000 to unemployed persons in the country.

Man abandons home to live in woods for ten years over wife's constant nagging

A 62-year-old gardener, Malcolm Applegate, decided to live in the woods for ten years after he got fed up with his wife’s nagging and wanted to live away from home.

According to Mailonline, Applegate was married to his wife for three years before going elsewhere after the relationship reached a breaking point. The gardener travelled from their house in Birmingham to London on foot after his bike got stolen.

A 26-year-old Queens man, Keith Wiggins was arrested for allegedly attacking two women and a teenager during a rape spree in East New York on Tuesday. His victims were a 29-year-old school bus matron, a 26-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old girl.

On Wednesday, authorities say the first incident happened in a parking lot on Fountain Avenue in East New York around 6:45 a.m, as a 26-year-old bus matron was on her way to work.

Lagos State Government has announced plans to honour late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, as the week-long activities marking his 79th posthumous birthday and the 20th anniversary of his death draw near..

Nigerian, Cameroonian, others arrested in raids in Thailand (photos)

Some foreigners including a Nigerian national, a Cameroonian, Indian, and an Algerian were arrested in Phuket on Wednesday,  for illegally staying in Thailand after their permit had expired.

Acting Deputy Chief of the Thai Tourist Police Maj Gen Surachet Hakpan, who disclosed this at a press conference yesterday October 11, said four suspects were arrested for entering the country illegally.

Police probing death of Nigerian man in South Africa during drug raid

Police are awaiting the post-mortem results to determine the cause of death of a the Nigerian man, Ibrahim O, during a drug raid on a suspected drug den in Vanderbijlpark, south of Johannesburg.

According to SA media, cops got a tip off about a house where drugs were being sold in Vanderbijlpark, in the Vaal and decided to raid the house. On arrival, the cops allegedly stormed the house and woke everyone up, both in the house and in the rooms outside.

Police arrest woman who specializes in buying children for N20k in Kano

The Kano state police command has arrested one Itakpom Wadda from Edo state for buying children for N20, 000 in the state. According to reports, the suspect was arrested after she bought a child from a prostitute that recently welcomed a baby in the Sabon Gari area of the state.

The police got a tip-off about the transaction and she was immediately arrested. When she was interrogated, she said she bought the baby for a couple in Port Harcourt, Rivers state who were in need of a child. The suspect, the prostitute and one other person are now in police custody.

Singer Davido releases statement and videos on the death of his friend, Tagbo

24 hours after the Lagos state police commissioner indicted him in the death of his friend, Tagbo Umeike, Davido, has released a statement telling his own side of the story. He also shared videos to back up his claims. According to Davido, when Tagbo started acting up after taking 40 shots of Tequila, he advised that he should allow someone drive him home but that Tagbo declined his advise.
