A 26-year-old Queens man, Keith Wiggins was arrested for allegedly attacking two women and a teenager during a rape spree in East New York on Tuesday. His victims were a 29-year-old school bus matron, a 26-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old girl.

On Wednesday, authorities say the first incident happened in a parking lot on Fountain Avenue in East New York around 6:45 a.m, as a 26-year-old bus matron was on her way to work.

Lagos State government to honour Fela Anikulapo-Kuti

Lagos State Government has announced plans to honour late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, as the week-long activities marking his 79th posthumous birthday and the 20th anniversary of his death draw near.. 

In a statement issued by the State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, the Government said the honour is in line with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s commitment to promote art and tourism and to celebrate iconic figures in politics, economics and culture sectors who have contributed to the image and development of Lagos State.

Nigerian, Cameroonian, others arrested in raids in Thailand (photos)

Some foreigners including a Nigerian national, a Cameroonian, Indian, and an Algerian were arrested in Phuket on Wednesday,  for illegally staying in Thailand after their permit had expired.

Acting Deputy Chief of the Thai Tourist Police Maj Gen Surachet Hakpan, who disclosed this at a press conference yesterday October 11, said four suspects were arrested for entering the country illegally.

Police probing death of Nigerian man in South Africa during drug raid

Police are awaiting the post-mortem results to determine the cause of death of a the Nigerian man, Ibrahim O, during a drug raid on a suspected drug den in Vanderbijlpark, south of Johannesburg.

According to SA media, cops got a tip off about a house where drugs were being sold in Vanderbijlpark, in the Vaal and decided to raid the house. On arrival, the cops allegedly stormed the house and woke everyone up, both in the house and in the rooms outside.

Police arrest woman who specializes in buying children for N20k in Kano

The Kano state police command has arrested one Itakpom Wadda from Edo state for buying children for N20, 000 in the state. According to reports, the suspect was arrested after she bought a child from a prostitute that recently welcomed a baby in the Sabon Gari area of the state.

The police got a tip-off about the transaction and she was immediately arrested. When she was interrogated, she said she bought the baby for a couple in Port Harcourt, Rivers state who were in need of a child. The suspect, the prostitute and one other person are now in police custody.

24 hours after the Lagos state police commissioner indicted him in the death of his friend, Tagbo Umeike, Davido, has released a statement telling his own side of the story. He also shared videos to back up his claims. According to Davido, when Tagbo started acting up after taking 40 shots of Tequila, he advised that he should allow someone drive him home but that Tagbo declined his advise. Inspector General of Police sues Bukola Saraki and Senate committee over corruption allegations

Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector-General of Police has filed a suit against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges.

According to Channels TV, the law suit comes amid allegations of corruption in the Nigeria Police Force made by the lawmaker representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Senator Isa Misau.  Senator Misau had among others, alleged that the Inspector-General of Police collects gratification from policemen attached to private citizens and oil companies.. Claims police authorities denied but accused the lawmaker of deserting the force.

An electrician identified as Ifesi Nwabude has been arrested while his three accomplices are on the run for gang raping a 14 year-old-girl in Awka, Anambra State capital.

It was gathered that Ifesi Nwabude, his brother, Chiedu and their friends Emmanuel and Chibuzo raped the girl on October 1st.

Lagos state Police PRO reacts to reports that the state acting police commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, has been demoted

A report by Sahara Reporters claims that the acting commissioner of police in Lagos state, Imohimi Edgal, has been demoted. The Police Service Commission in a letter dated October 8, 2017, and titled: Withdrawal of Acting Appointment", allegedly reversed the positions of Lagos acting commissioner of police and that of Kogi state,  Aji Ali Janga to Deputy Commissioners of Police.
