Graphic photos: Man who tried to kill his mother arrested in Akwa Ibom state

According to Facebook user and president of The National Security Council of Akpakip Eyo-Abasi Youth Association, Baron Ita, a man who tried to kill his mother in Oron, Akwa Ibom state was arrested by the security association and handed over to the police. He shared graphic photos of the incident and wrote;

The National Security Council of Akpakip Eyo-Abasi Youth Association led by the National President, Ulap Baron Ita Iniekung arrested suspected killer Who attempt to Kill his mother at the Early hour of 4AM of Sunday October 15th, 2017 at Anwana Abia Lane by Louis Ating Street, Oron. The killer is said to be an indigene of Udung Uko Local Government Area . Therefore, the suspected was handle over to Security agent(Nigerian Police Force) for the Law to take its course. President Muhammadu Buhari has invited a 10-year-old girl named Aysha Aliyu Gebi from Bauchi state to the state house in Abuja after her letter requesting to see him surfaced online. Her Uncle posted her letter on social media and it caught the eyes of President Buhari's personal assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmad, who showed the President over the weekend and he has asked for her to come and see him. Italian priest reportedly kidnapped by gunmen in Edo State

An Italian priest, Maurizio Pallu has been kidnapped by gunmen in Edo state. The 63-year-old priest was snatched last Thursday in broad daylight by armed men just outside of Benin City, Italian media reports said.

"Pope Francis has been informed about the Italian priest Maurizio Pallu kidnapped in Nigeria and he is praying for him," chief Vatican spokesman Greg Burke wrote on Twitter on Friday evening.

The State House Medical Center received only 33% capital allocation - Presidency reacts

The Presidency has reacted to recent media reports suggesting that the State House Medical Centre received N11.01billion as appropriation for the period 2015-2017.

According to the Permanent Secretary, State House, Jalal A. Arabi, contrary to the above claims, out of the total Capital Appropriation of N2,941,062,044.00 and Recurrent Appropriation of N465,935,358.00 for the period under reference, only the sum of N969,681,821.53 (representing 32.97%) for Capital and N225,575,200.60 (representing 48.41%) for Recurrent was actually released.
