"Justice will take its course" - Police confirm arrest of Maryam Sanda over alleged murder of her husband Bilyamin Muhammed Bello

The FCT Police Command have arrested Maryam Sanda over the alleged murder of her husband, Bilyamin Muhammed Bello, said to be son of former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, national chairman, Bilyamin Bello.

The command’s spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah, who confirmed the development on Monday in Abuja, said immediately Maitama Police Division received the information about the death, it went to the scene and arrested the suspect.

Update: Death toll in Adamawa mosque bomb attack rises to 50, see graphic photos from the scene

The death toll in the suicide bomb attack that took place inside a mosque in Mubi community in Adamawa state this morning has risen to 50. A teenage boy strapped with explosives, attacked the Madina mosque in the Unguwar Shuwa area of Mubi, Adamawa state, killing the worshippers. The state police command spokesperson, Othman Abubakar, told AFP that 50 persons have been confirmed dead.

'Electoral reform is paying off' - President Buhari says as he congratulates Willie Obiano on Anambra election victory'

President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the people of Anambra State, the governorship candidates, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), election observers as well as security agencies and other stakeholders, on the peaceful conduct of the November 18 gubernatorial election in the state.

According to the President, “the processes leading to the election and its peaceful conduct and outcome, have shown that our electoral reform is bearing positive fruits. This is very encouraging and I am determined to give Nigeria free and fair elections, no matter which way the results swing.”
