Adamawa State has recorded its first case of death from the viral hemorrhagic fever, popularly known as Lassa fever. The victim was an official of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, identified as Gabriel Ambe from Numan, Adamawa State.

Ambe, who was reportedly serving in Gembu, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, died last Thursday at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola.

Abuja High Court remands staff of National Health Insurance Scheme in prison for violence against his own children

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory Number 28 sitting in Apo, Abuja, has remanded a 40 year old man, Alex Okafor in prison custody for an alleged act of violence and inflicting injuries on his three children. The three children (names withheld) are aged 8, 10 and 11 years.

His remand was sequel to his arraignment by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, (NAPTIP) and his inability to meet the bail conditions granted him by the Court.

A young man was hacked to death by machete-wielding cultists yesterday in Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The violent incident took place on Sunday evening after an argument broke out during a football match at a Primary School in Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo. Some young men were playing football on the primary school field when a number of them got into an argument which soon turned violent.

The Lagos state police command today paraded a primary school dropout, Abdulrahman Mohammed, who has practiced as a medical doctor for four years in the state.

Parading the suspect before newsmen, the state police commissioner, CP Edgal Imohimi, said Mohammed operated a clinic at Idi-Araba area in Mushin, where he administered intravenous injections to patients and also collected blood and urine samples for diagnosis.

Gunmen abduct German engineer, kill policeman in Kano state

A German Engineer identified as Michael Cremza working with Dantata and Sawoe Company in Kano state has been abducted with his police orderly shot dead today April 16th.

According to reports, the gunmen who were about five in number, trailed a vehicle conveying Cremza to a construction site and opened fire on the car along Sabon Titi Madobi Road. The police officer died during the fire exchange.

Imo state doctor accidentally cuts man's intestines while treating him of injuries sustained in bike accident

A mistake made by a doctor in Imo state has worsened the condition of a bike accident survivor, leaving him with excreta coming out of his stomach.

Danlynton Remedy was involved in a motorcycle accident and it left him with injuries on his stomach. He was taken to a hospital in Okigwe, Imo state, for treatment, but according to reports, a doctor mistakenly cut his small intestine during the surgery and that caused feces to run out of his stomach.
