Finally! Peter Okoye and Lola Omotayo are engaged

P-Square's Peter Okoye has finally proposed to the mother of his two children, Lola Omotayo today with a brand new Range Rover...and Lola said yes! The two have been dating for over seven years and have two children together. Continue to see the engagement ring and the SUV. Sometimes the wait is worth it. Congrats to them!

I don't think he is serious about quitting music. He's probably just feeling a little depressed after he turned himself into jail in Van Nuys yesterday afternoon. According to TMZ, he was at the jail for about 45mins. Chris Brown shared his grief on Twitter.

Governor Babatunde Fashola's father buried

The remains of Alhaji Ademola Fashola, the father of Lagos state governor, Raji Fashola, who died in the early hours of yesterday morning, was laid to rest this afternoon at the Vaults and Gardens Cemetery, Ikoyi, Lagos. May his soul rest in peace, amen.

Two brothers strangled to death in their sleep by python that entered their room through a vent

Two brothers, age five and seven, (pictured above) have been tragically strangled to death in their sleep by a massive 16-foot python that escaped from a pet store below the apartment where the children were staying.

Connor and Noah Barth were sleeping soundly when the 100-pound African Rock Python fell from the ceiling and attacked them. The boys were spending the night with Jean-Claude Savoie, who lives above the Reptile Ocean pet store that he owns in the tiny New Brunswick city of Campbellton in Canada.

The mischievous lead report in the Peoples Daily newspaper today that President Goodluck Jonathan sought to visit former President Ibrahim Babangida in Minna to show him “the spirit of comradeship” during Ramadan is completely untrue.

Although President Jonathan participates in the Ramadan fast every year in solidarity with Nigerians of the Islamic faith, he has never as Vice President or President of the country visited the residence of any individual to break his fast.

Rather, it has been the President’s custom to regularly invite Moslems from all strata of society to break their fast with him at the Presidential Villa during the month of Ramadan.

A committee which includes billionaires Alhaji Aliko Dangote as the chairman, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija as co-chairman, Tony Elumelu and other philanthropist has been formed and they have so far raised over N7billion for victims of the flood. Now they are asking other Nigerians to join them to rebuild the flood devastated areas. A lot of people affected are still homeless.

Based on this they are about to launch a Flood Relief Campaign with the 30 biggest Nigerian celebrities from each sector; Nollywood , Music, Arts, Radio, CEO's etc

The smashing campaign is being shot currently and will be launched soon and is expected to get Nigerians to text in to donate. Please join the cause. Let's help rebuild the affected areas.

According to Punch, the policemen who just stood there and watched while two young men were beaten to death on Sunday July 21 in Badagry, have been arrested. The police officers, Inspector Adefemi Ashogbon and Sergeant John Sonayon of the Badagry Police Division were arrested on Friday August 2nd. Sergeant Sonayon was the police officer that interviewed the victims during their torture. Eight other people have also been arrested over the lynching.

Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko said,

“The Divisional Police Officer did not present the matter to us the way it happened. When we started asking questions, we discovered that the two people, who were killed, were not armed robbers contrary to what the DPO told us. When we saw the video clips and watched the way those boys were killed, we told ourselves that we would be failing in our duties if we fail to bring everyone involved to justice.”

The sooner they start giving long prison sentences to people who lynch or people who are even found on the scene of a lynching, the safer our family and friends will be.

Hon. Chidi Lloyd sues the Nigerian police N50billion for ill treatment

While in their custody, embattled Rivers State law maker Chidi Lloyd claims he was blindfolded, battered and tortured by the Nigerian police and for that, he wants N50 billion as compensation.

His legal team made this known yesterday after Chidi Lloyd was granted bail by a Rivers State high court. The presiding judge also ordered that the majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly should not be rearrested by the police. The case was adjourned till August 12th.

If he's asking for N50billion for ill treatment, then the colleague he nearly killed with a mace should be asking for what huh???. Lol.

It was a gathering of the who is who in Delta state as family, friends, political associates, traditional rulers and captains of industries gathered to celebrate the 55th birthday ceremony of the former Delta State governor in his country home Oghara. Below is a press release from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested one Kingsley Mudi over alleged ATM fraud. He was picked up at about 11 pm on August 2, 2013 at Fidelity Bank ATM on Airport Road, Warri, Delta State following an intelligence report.

At the point of arrest, 30 ATM cards of different banks with which he allegedly withdrew a total sum of five hundred and fifty thousand naira (N550, 000) were found in his possession. Eight signed UBA cheques belonging to sundry persons were also found on him. Kingsley Mudi, who claimed to be a Disc Jockey and an operator of a barbing salon, has volunteered useful information.

He will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
