24 hours after two priests were killed, Herdsmen strike again in Benue killing 16
Barely 24 hours after two catholic priests and 17 parishioners were killed by suspected herdsmen, 16 persons were today killed by suspected herdsmen in Ali Agundu and Tsav council wards of Guma Government Area (LGA) of Benue State.
Confirming the attack, the state commissioner of police, Fatai Owoseni, said unidentified gunmen stormed the village at about 5am and shot the victims dead. He, however, added that information on the incident was still sketchy.
Residents in the state say the villagers were woken up by gunshots and wailing from victims of the attack.

NANS wants herdsmen to be declared terrorists over Benue state church killings
National Association of the Nigerian Students (NANS), has condemned the killing of two Rev. Fathers and 19 others in Benue by suspected herdsmen.
NANS National Public Relations Officer, Bestman Okereafor, gave this condemnation in a statement issued in Enugu saying Nigerian students received with shock and sadness the gruesome killings and burning down of more than 35 houses at a Catholic Church in Ukpor-Mbalom community, Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue by the suspects.

Today, a Danish court sentenced inventor Peter Madsen to life in prison for murdering and dismembering a Swedish journalist aboard his home-built submarine in Copenhagen harbour in August 2017.

Lagos IGR hits N103.4b in first quarter of 2018...Capital expenditure gulps N93bn
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday said its internally generated revenue for the first quarter of Y2018 stood at N103.476billion, as against N96.7billion recorded in the previous year, thereby accounting for 81 per cent of the total revenue of N141billion generated in the quarter.

A delegation of senators who visited the National hospital Abuja where one of their colleagues, Dino Melaye, is being treated for injuries he sustained after jumping off a police vehicle, were this morning denied access into the hospital. The senators were stopped by police officers stationed at the hospital.
The delegation was led by Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Bala Na'Allah. It included Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Francis Alimikhena, Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha and Deputy Chief of Staff to Senate President, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola.

The Lagos state government says forensic evidence released by the police have shown that 53 year old Danish man, Peter Nielsen, killed his wife, Zainab aka Alizee and their three year old daughter, Petra.
