David Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, weds longtime girlfriend after she’s diagnosed with breast cancer

David Bowie’s son has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Rodene Ronquillo, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer last month.
Duncan Jones announced the nuptials in a series of tweets Sunday that explained why the couple decided to head to the altar on Nov. 7, just days after the beautiful photographer found a lump in her breast.

“I love my wife more than anyone. She's young as can be,” wrote the award-winning “Moon” director, who shaved his head in support of his 32-year-old betrothed.
“On November 4th, my beautiful fiancé @rodeneronquillo & I were, frisking about in bed, as you do. I am a boob man & found... A lump,” Jones said.
Jones, who proposed to Ronquillo back in June, said doctors determined his wife had stage 2 breast cancer after doing a biopsy.

“We were a little overwhelmed by the news: cancer & Election Day, so decided to make it a set, ran down to the courthouse & got married!,” he tweeted.
“So cancer, election, marriage. All on one day! Two days later, Ro was in surgery.”
The procedure went “really well,” Jones said, adding that Ronquillo was put on the “fast track” to chemotherapy, which is set to begin Tuesday.

“Women are getting breast cancer younger & younger,” he added. “Women? check yourselves! ..& men? Touch up your loved ones. You may save the life of the person you love.”
Jones, formerly nicknamed Zowie Bowie, is the son of legendary rocker and former American model Angela Barnett.

Jones and Ronquillo live in Los Angeles.
Ronquillo, who has since taken the last name of her husband, also took to Twitter to speak about the diagnosis.
“Life is fragile, life is precious...you can never be too grateful. Xxoo Make it great,” she wrote in November.
