Health: Dietary Supplements

You wake up very early in the morning, food is probably the last thing on your mind. You get to work and fast food joints are your saving grace. You get home and what would probably fill you up the most is a huge bowl of eba or rice. Or your case might be that certain food types are not sold near your place or they are just too expensive.

Well whatever the case maybe, scientist have come up with easy ways for us to stay healthy... Dietary supplements!

Dietary supplements are also known as food or nutritional supplements. Its a preparation intended to supplement the diet and provide nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, fiber, fatty acids e.t.c. that may be missing or may not be consumed in sufficient quantities in a person's diet.Dietary supplements are not the same as drugs. Drugs are chemically made to treat or prevent certain illnesses which when used for too long can damage certain body organs such as the liver while supplements are extracts gotten from natural sources. They help keep the body strong by providing what it needs to function properly.

Care has to be taken when purchasing relevant supplements as some of them might be fake. They are also not meant to replace consuming real food. So its best to eat well, exercise then use supplements.

Other health tips include:
  • Sip oolong tea. A lot of brand specialize in making oolong tea bags. It helps reduce the case of eczema when drank regularly.
  • Consume more of locally made rice like ofada instead of the processed rice
  • Eat bulb and root produce like garlic, onions, ginger e.t.c.
  • Drink a lot of water.
