Multiple suicide bomb attacks kill three in Maiduguri, Borno state

Multiple explosions heard in some parts of Maiduguri, Borno state from last night into this morning, have been identified as multiple suicide attacks. Three persons including a male and female suicide bomber as well as a member of the state Civilian Joint Taskforce, were killed in the incident.

According to reports, the male suicide bomber was shot dead by troops while he was approaching a security post in Usmanti to detonate a bomb strapped on him. A teenage girl who also had a bomb strapped on her was identified as she made her way to a mosque. When she was stopped for interrogation, she detonated the bomb, killing herself and a member of the Civilian Joint Taskforce.
