Flood in Lagos again...

The heat in Lagos in the last couple of months has been bad....so bad  that you'd pray for rain. But then the rain comes, and there's flood. Awolowo Way, Ikeja was flooded this morning after a down pour (pictured above). Cars were submerged to window level, leaving a number of cars stuck.

The rationale behind the RLG Free BRT ride is a major corporate social responsibility to assist commuters, at least, within a given period in order to demonstrate the bond existing between the company and the generality of Nigerians by assuaging the stress of transport fares on their pockets.

The aged mother of the late Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs Funmi Olayinka, on Sunday wept profusely as she received Governor Kayode Fayemi and his wife, Bisi.
Fayemi, alongside his wife and other top government officials on a condolence visit, arrived at the Famuwagun’s family house of the parents of departed Olayinka in Oke Ori-Omi, Ado Ekiti, at about 10am.

Madonna dissed by the President of Malawi for sending a mispelled letter

 

Madonna has become embroiled in a war of words with the President of Malawi after she sent her a tatty, misspelled letter.

President Joyce Banda has accused the superstar of going back on her promises and 'insulting the people' after receiving the letter, which kindly praised the leader but was riddled with mistakes.

The 54-year-old pop star asked to meet Banda - who was elected to office in April 2012 - during her visit, but was met with hostility and accusations.

Pastor arrested over robbery attack at Murtala Muhammed International Airport

 

On Tuesday, Lagos State Police Command, paraded seven suspects of a robbery gang that attacked the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, last month, killed two policemen and injured several others.

Among the suspects, was the General Overseer of The way of Joy church located in Egbe, a Lagos suburb. The clerg , identified as Pastor Ibikunle Olarewaju John (pictured top left), confessed to Crime Guard during the parade, that he administered an oath of secrecy on the gang members, on the day they attacked the Muritala Mohammed Airport.

Mike Adenuga buys brand new 2013 Range Rover & Toyota Camry for Stephen Keshi

Globacom chairman and Nigeria's second richest man, chief Mike Adenuga bought a brand new 2013 Range Rover and the latest Toyota Camry for Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi. The cars will be presented to Keshi on Monday April 8th which is tomorrow at Globacom office in Victoria Island.

Aside from the cars, Stephen Keshi will also get a house in Abuja, Glo ambassadorship, $200, 000 cash and his salary for the next 2 years from Mike Adenuga. All this is for winning the 2013 Orange African Cup of Nations.
