Usher wants ex-wife Tameka Raymond to drop his name

Five years after their divorce, Tameka Raymond is still using Usher's last name. In a recent interview Usher says Tameka needs to give it up.

When asked how he feels about his ex-wife still using his last name in an interview with Dish Nation Usher admitted he felt some kind of way about it.

Usher tells Dish Nation,

“She married me...I’ll marry again...And when I do, I don’t want to have a harem. I just hope that when I do, it will be a departure.”

Al-Shabaab terrorist group leader killed in U.S airstrike in Somalia

The Somali prime minister said on Friday that Ahmed Godane, head of the Islamist militant group al Shabaab, was killed in a U.S. strike this week, although the group that is waging an insurgency against the government has yet to comment.

U.S. officials had said on Wednesday that they were still checking to see whether Monday's U.S. missile strike on an al Shabaab encampment had killed Godane, who was appointed leader in 2008 after his predecessor was killed in a U.S. attack.

"We tell the Somalis that Godane is dead," Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed said on his Facebook page, the first government confirmation of his death. (Reuters)

FG denies hiring Stephen Davis as Boko Haram hostage negotiator

Federal government has denied claims by Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, that he was hired by the Nigerian Government to negotiate for the release of Chibok girls.

Speaking through the Coordinator of the National Information Center, Mr Mike Omeri, today Sept. 5th in Abuja, FG said the decision to hire a negotiator would be made public whenever they decide to do so and that they have no plans to question those alleged to be Boko Haram sponsors by Stephen Davis

"For now nobody has been hired by the government to negotiate on its behalf with Boko Haram. Anytime the government decides to do so, it will make it known to the public. The government is still investigating the allegations made by the alleged negotiator. However, the government has no plan to question anybody because of those allegations made by the Australian,” Omeiri stated.

Atiku Abubakar declares interest in the 2015 presidential election

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has finally declared his interest in contesting in the 2015 presidential election on the ticket of the APC. Atiku said he will declare officially on Wednesday, September 24. This was contained in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Mallam Garba Shenu, in Abuja this morning.

9 year old twin boys stabbed to death by their brother who then killed himself

9 year old twin brothers Patrick and Thomas O'Driscoll were stabbed to death yesterday September 4th by their older half brother Jonathan, 20, who then killed himself about an hour later. Read the full story below...

Nine-year-old Patrick and Thomas O’Driscoll were dressed in their school uniforms when found dead in separate bedrooms by their younger brothers, aged three and five.

Their half-sibling Jonathan, 20, sped from the scene in Charleville, Co Cork, and was discovered hanged 15km away.

 The tragic boys’ parents Tom and Ellen were shopping in nearby Kilmallock, Limerick, at the time.A security source told the Irish Mirror : “It was a frenzied attack, the boys were stabbed multiple times. It’s understood there are psychological issues involved.”

Third American Ebola patient arrives U.S for treatment

The third American doctor to be diagnosed with the Ebola virus arrived Nebraska about an hour to begin his treatment. Dr Richard Sacra (pictured above) contracted the deadly virus while working in Liberia. Dr Sacra wasn't treating Ebola patients when he was infected.

He was today flown to the Nebraska Medical Center's biocontainment patient care unit, one of the four facilities in America designed specifically to treat patients exposed to extremely dangerous infectious organisms.

Two other Americans were recently treated of the deadly virus using the experimental drug, ZMapp.

Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh to be buried on September 12th

The remains of late Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh, the phenomenal doctor who died on August 19th after being infected with the Ebola virus by Liberian Sawyer, will be buried on Friday September 12 at a private family funeral.

A memorial service will hold at the Holy Cross Cathedral opposite the City Hall in Lagos by 10am before her ash, which has been obtained by her family, will be committed to mother earth.

Her family had obtained her ashes after her corpse was decontaminated and cremated by the Lagos State Government.

Go ahead and sue me - Foreign negotiator tells Alimodu Sheriff

Australian negotiator Stephen Davis has dared former Borno state governor, Alimodu Sheriff to sue him for saying he's one of the sponsors of Boko Haram. Mr Sheriff had threatened to sue at a press conference on Wednesday.

Speaking with TheCable today, Davis said if Alimodu Sheriff goes to court, evidences to prove he has connections with the sect will be produced.

"He is worried, is he? He knows that if he goes to court, the evidence will be produced and he cannot escape justice. Let him go to court if that is what he wishes. It is his right to do so. He will not be able to avoid close examination and then the facts will be known. Good luck to him if he decides to sue me in Australia. He can’t buy the judges here. Truth is not for sale. Australia has zero toleration for those who might sponsor terrorism."

"All schools to resume September 22nd" - Federal government

The Federal government has directed all primary and secondary schools to resume on Monday September 22nd. The resumption date for schools had earlier been postponed to October 13th as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria.

Legendary comedienne Joan Rivers dies at 81

Joan Rivers is gone. Her daughter Melissa Rivers just released a statement on her passing...

"It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers. She passed peacefully at 1:17 PM surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Mount Sinai hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother."

"Cooper and I have found ourselves humbled by the outpouring of love, support and prayers we have received from around the world.They have been heard and appreciated."

Tension in Agbor kingdom as King reportedly marries white lady

According to Leadership Newspaper, the Agbor kingdom in Delta state is currently in a state of confusion after their 37 year old King, the Dein of Agbor, Benjamin Ikechukwu Kiagborekuzi I, secretly married a white woman, a decision said to be unacceptable by his people who expected him to marry an Agbor woman.
The Dein who was crowned King when he was just two and a half years old in 1979 following the death of his father, had all his education abroad. He returned to Nigeria in 2001 after completing all his studies to assume the throne as king and has been ruling his kingdom since without a Queen.
Looks like he found love while he was abroad and decided to settle down with her.

Chantelle said Rhys was jealous and insecure and attacked her after a fight about Facebook.

Boko Haram reportedly takes over Bara town in Borno

While it's still not clear if Boko Haram has taken control of Borno's second biggest city, Bama, (too many conflicting reports) there are reports now that they have taken control of the smaller town of Bara, which is halfway between Maiduguri and Abuja.

Reuters reports that Boko Haram took over Bara town without firing a shot or killing anyone. A source said the militants entered the town without any resistance from any security forces who are not stationed anywhere in the small town, and went about trying to convince people to join their cause

Chris Oyakhilome, who is currently in divorce court with his estranged wife Anita Oyakhilome has denied adultery accusations and has threatened to sue journalists who publish stories about himself and his wife. In a statement released via his lawyer Mr. Kemi Pinheiro (SAN) a few hours ago, Pastor Oyakhilome said the accusations of adultery against him is 'false and malicious'.

"The attention of our client, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, and the church has been drawn to the wave of false, malicious and fabricated stories being published in the print and electronic media about his person, the church and a matrimonial cause between him and his wife," his attorney stated. Ex-Governor Alimodu Sheriff breaks down as he tries to dissociate self from Boko Haram

Former Borno state governor Alimodu Sheriff broke down in tears during a press conference in Abuja yesterday as he tried to dissociate himself from Boko Haram. He'd been accused by Australian negotiator Stephen Davis of being a major sponsor of the sect. He vehemently denied this at the press conference.

'Our sons rape us on a daily basis' - Christian mothers in Imo cry out

Christian Mothers in Mgbishii, a rural community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area in Imo state have cried out to the government and the Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiatical Province, Dr. Anthony Obinna, over alleged atrocities being committed by their sons and daughters in the area.

According to Vanguard, the women made this appeal during a recent visit to the Catholic Archbishop at the Maria Assumpta Catholic Cathedral in Owerri.

"We are raped and molested by our own children. You cannot come to Mgbuishii and return home safely because of the crime rate" the women said.

Joan Rivers leaves intensive care, 'kept comfortable' in private room

Joan River's daughter, Melissa Rivers just announced that the comedienne and TV star left intensive care and has been moved to a private hospital.

"My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support,” Melissa said.

Melissa didn't really indicate if being moved into a private room means her mother is getting better. Joan Rivers was rushed to the hospital a week ago after she stopped breathing during a routine throat operation. Some family members fear she will never fully recover and could be left 'a vegetable'.
