Nigeria may face famine in January, Presidency warns
Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba yesterday warned that Nigeria could face famine in January if drastic steps are not taken now. Garba who gave the warning when he spoke at a radio station in kano yesterday, said Nigerian farmers are exporting most of their food products instead of making it readily available for consumption in Nigeria.

EFCC operatives reportedly found $175 million in the account of a company, Pluto Property and Investment Limited, that is owned by former first lady, Patience Jonathan. According to the Nation, investigations into the $15.5 million found in four companies that Patience Jonathan has claimed ownership of, led the antigraft agency to the discovery of $175 million deposited into the company's account in four tranches within 14 months — between February 21, 2014 and April 1, 2015.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has given telecom operators one week ultimatum to comply with the directive of ‘Do Not Disturb’ (DND), issued by the body on April 20th, 2016, to address unwanted messages received by subscribers or face sanction.
According to a statement released yesterday in Abuja by the Director of Public Affairs of the commission, Mr Tony Ojobo; NCC had written to all 13 networks providers in Nigeria, on whose networks the body had received series of complaints from subscribers regarding adherence to the ‘Do Not Disturb’ (DND) service rule issued to them by NCC.

ASUU declares one week warning strike from Wednesday November 16th
The Academic Staff Union of University ASUU has issued a statement saying it would embark on a one week warning strike starting from Wednesday November 16th to Tuesday November 22nd.
According to the statement signed by ASUU National President, Biodun Ogunyemi, the strike action is as a result of the Federal government's failure to implement the 2009 Agreement and 2013 MoU.
