There was a massive protest in Sapele, Delta State this morning as residents of the community staged a protest over prolonged power outage and outrageous estimated bills. The angry protesters said they have not had power in the last one month, yet PHCN officials still bring outrageous bills to them. They blocked major federal roads that pass through their community. Nigerian Air Force strikes Boko Haram terrorists location in Gwoza

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have struck a Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) location at Tagoshe/Mandara Mountain general area about 10km Southwest of Gwoza in Northern Borno.

According to a statement released today, an Intelligence report by sister surface forces, had it that remnants of fleeing BHTs were gathered at the location.

Beyoncé cancels performance at Coachella due to pregnancy

Organisers of Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival have announced that Beyoncé will not perform at this year's event because the singer is pregnant with twins.

"Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival," read the statement on the festival's Facebook page.

Court grants Nollywood movie producer, Seun Egbegbe N5m bail

The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted Nollywood producer, Seun Egbegbe and one Oyekan Ayomide N5 million bail. Both men have been in police custody since February 2nd for defrauding some Bureau De Change operatives at Gbagada in Lagos.

Ruling on their bail application today, the presiding judge, Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo said they should be remanded in prison until they fulfill their bail conditions.

43 Nigerians deported from Germany, Belgium, Italy for immigration offences

About 43 Nigerians were deported from Germany, Belgium and Italy on Thursday night for immigration offences and unruly behaviour, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said. The deportees arrived through Hi-Fly chartered Airbus 330 with registration number CS-TQW at Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 8:50 p.m.

Man sentenced to death by hanging for killing his wife in Lagos state

A Lagos High Court in Ikeja has sentenced a man, Sulaiman Olalekan to death by hanging for the murder of his wife, Chika Egbo on November 20th 2012. Sulaiman had met the deceased at Signal hotel Ijeshatedo where she was reportedly serving as a prostitute.

He fell in love and decided to marry her only if she promised never to go back to prostitution again. She made the promise and then they got married. Sulaiman bought her a fairly used car and even paid her tuition while she was at the Enugu College of Education.
