A Nigerian woman has taken to Facebook to call out her estranged husband and accuse him of a number of things, including being a "parasite" who was totally dependent on her financially and also of physically abusing her.

In a now deleted post, Lyrnda Onwunali basically shredded the man, believed to be her husband, to pieces. According to her, the man, whose name she gave as Okpoebo Chidozie was ungrateful in spite of everything she did.

Kachikwu's letter on corruption in NNPC: SERAP asks President Buhari to suspend Baru

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, (SERAP) has sent an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari requesting him to use his “good offices and leadership position to urgently refer the allegations of corruption and abuse of office against Mr Maikanti Baru, Group Managing Director Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for investigation, and if there is relevant and sufficient admissible evidence, for him to face prosecution.”

UNIBEN professor shot dead in front of his home in Benin city

A senior lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Benin in Edo State, Prof. Paul Otasowie, was shot dead by gunmen in front of his home on Ekehuan road in Oredo Local Government Area of the state yesterday evening October 4th. There have been different claims as to the men who killed the professor. While some people claim that the gunmen were hired assassins, others claim that the armed men might have been armed robbers who were shocked to see him in front of his home.
The University's Public Relations Officer, Michael Osasuyi, says the matter has been reported to the police and that the school would issue a statement soon.

Europe slaps Amazon with tax bill of nearly $300m

The European Union has ordered Amazon to pay 250 million euros, or about $294 million, plus interest, to the country of Luxembourg, where Amazon’s European operations are located.

This came after EU Commission found that Amazon benefited from an illegal tax arrangement with Luxembourg. Turns out Luxembourg gave illegal tax benefits to Amazon worth around EUR 250 million. On Wednesday, EU regulators, who are cracking down on U.S. tech giants’ abilities to avoid higher tax rates by organizing in tax haven nations, imposed a massive tax penalty on the tech giant Amazon.

Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a popular musician and social critic, Ambassador Osayomore Joseph, in his village at Orovie, near Benin City.

Osayomore was kidnapped around 10 :00 p .m . at Orovie village, off Upper Ekewan road in Egor local government area on Tuesday, September 3. His wife sustained gun shot wounds on the head in the process.
