Tinubu must resign to save Oando from further crisis – Shareholders insists

The lingering crisis in Oando Plc is far from over as a group of shareholders on Wednesday called on the embattled company's management team led by its Group Chief Executive, Wale Tinubu to resign. President of the Trusted Shareholders' Association of Nigeria (TSAN), Alhaji Muktar Muktar, said the call on Tinubu and his team to resign has become imperative to save the company from collapse.

Mukhtar also took a swipe at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for not responding appropriately to shareholders' demand in respect of alleged infractions in the company. According to Mukhtar, "Regulators have not done enough to protect shareholders in the whole Oando saga."

The United States has laid claim to $300 million stashed abroad by Nigeria's late military dictator, Sani Abacha.

According to reports, America allegedly told a court in an unnamed foreign country that it had an interest in the loot because it was saved in its currency, the US dollar. Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami (SAN) and rights activist Mr Femi Falana (SAN) made the claims in Lagos.

Graphic photos: 18 people killed, 24 others injured as suicide bombers attack mosque, other locations in Borno state

No fewer than 18 persons have been confirmed dead in a multiple suicide attack that happened in Maiduguri, Borno state last night. Four suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers, two males, and two females, sneaked into Muna Gari community in Maiduguri, Borno state at about 8pm and detonated Improvised Explosive Devises strapped to their bodies at different locations in the community.

The state police Public Relations Officer, Victor Isuku, who confirmed the incident, said that the first explosion occurred at a prayer ground, followed by the other explosions all within the community. See graphic photos from the scene of the attack below.

The youth of Umuomumu Mbieri in Umueze community, Imo state went on a rampage yesterday after a young graduate of Imo State University was killed by one of the king's security guards.

The victim, Uchenna Opara Junior, recently graduated from IMSU and was preparing to go for the National Youth Service when he was killed. According to online reports, the killing was allegedly spearheaded by the king of Umuomumu Mbieri, HRH Eze Peter Opara, who is said to have led his security men to shoot the deceased. The doodle is marking what would have been Achebe's 87th birthday today, November 16. He died in March of 2013 at the age of 82, having collected accolades that included the Man Booker International Prize, St. Louis Literary Award and the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade.
