'Stop mocking Buhari's fight against corruption' Lai Mohammed appeals to the media

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has appealed to the media to stop mocking the anti-corruption war of the Buhari-led administration. Declaring open the 68th General Assembly of the Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON) in Abuja on Monday, Lai said while the media should not hesitate to criticise the government's strategy for the war against corruption, when necessary, it should do so without mocking the government.

Former top Chinese General commits suicide following corruption investigation

A Chinese general who disappeared from public view while under investigation for corruption was found dead at his home in Beijing after apparently committing suicide.

Zhang Yang, 66, committed suicide on Nov. 23, the state-run Xinhua news agency said, citing China’s Central Military Commission. The Xinhua report said Mr. Zhang was living at home while he was being questioned in connection with unspecified corruption charges.

ICPC to arraign mother of alleged husband killer, Maryam Sanda, over N57 million fraud

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission will today November 28th, arraign before an Abuja high court Mrs Maimuna Aliyu, mother of Maryam Sanda who allegedly killed her husband, Bilyamin Bello in Abuja two Sundays ago.

Mrs Aliyu who is a former Executive Director of Aso Savings and Loans Ltd, will be arraigned on charges of corruption. A statement by the commission says during her time in office. Mrs Aliyu sold three plots of land belonging to her former place of employment without remitting the proceeds of about N57 million. The statement by the commission in part reads...

Meredith Corp. has announced that it is buying Time Inc. the parent company of Time Magazine for about $1.8 billion in a deal CEO Stephen Lacy described as “a transformative and financially compelling growth opportunity” that joins two giant magazine companies.

Final Law year student killed in Bayelsa during NANS election; president, other suspects arrested

A final year law student was shot dead on Sunday in Otuoke, Bayelsa State, during an election organized by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

Magam Elvis, a delegate from University of Uyo (UNIUYO), Akwa Ibom State, was allegedly killed by fellow students believed to be cultists, The Nation reports. Trouble reportedly started last Saturday after the poll organized to elect NANS coordinators in Zone B. The crisis snowballed into a cult supremacy war, following the arrival and accreditation of delegates.

Former Olympic swimmer, Mark Foster comes out as gay

Mark Foster, who swam for Great Britain in five Olympic Games, has come out publicly as gay in an interview with The Guardian. The retired 47-year-old said in the interview that he has been dating men for the last 26 years, during much of his career.

Despite being out to many people in his personal life, Foster said coming out publicly had still brought him some anxiety. “I was a bit nervous today but I kept busy,” he said in the interview.

Olaoluwa Adejo, a 32-year-old bank worker has been arrested for the death of his 28-year-old wife, Maureen, at their home on Peluola Street, Oworonshoki, Bariga, Lagos State.

Olaoluwa was alleged to have tortured his wife of five years with a belt, as well as cutting her with a machete. Their 5-year-old son, Richard, who witnessed the incident, said that his father also forced a local insecticide, otapiapia, down the throat of his mother
