''It is unfair to say anyone that joined APC from PDP is a looter'' Lai Mohammed says

Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, has reacted to speculations that the party is shielding PDP members that decamped to APC before the 2015 general election.

Shortly after releasing the controversial looters list which had mostly PDP members, the opposition party, PDP, in a statement, alleged that some of its members such as Rotimi Amaechi who decamped from PDP to APC and has been accused of looting the Rivers state treasury to fund the APC presidential campaign in 2015, is being shielded by the party.

Pastor kills his lover, cuts off her head and hands and buries her remains inside his church in Ogun state

The Ogun police command has arrested a pastor who allegedly killed his female lover and buried her body inside his church. The brother of the deceased, 35 year old Raliat Sanni, Adebola Saheed, had gone to the police to lodge a complaint after she left the house on March 21st and did not return.

After much investigation by the police, it was discovered that her last contact was with the pastor.

Reno Omokri says ''No cache of dollars or any other foreign currencies was found in any of Goodluck Jonathan's homes''

Former media aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has denied media reports that a cache of dollars was found recently in one of the homes of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

A video showing some police officers purportedly in one of the homes of the former president where a cache of dollars was found, has been circulating on social media.

South Africa announces April 14 state funeral for Winnie Mandela

The South African government has announced a state funeral for Winnie Nomzamo Madikizela-Mandela, the anti-apartheid campaigner and former wife of the country’s first black president, Nelson Mandela.

“Freedom fighter Winnie Nomzamo Madikizela-Mandela will be laid to rest on 14 April 2018, during a state funeral,” a government statement read.

President Buhari plans private visit to London next week Monday

President Buhari is scheduled to depart for London, the United Kingdom, on a private visit  next week Monday April 9th. A source in the Presidency says that the trip is to enable the president attend to some private matters which cannot be disclosed publicly.

While in London, President Buhari will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled to hold from April 15 to 20 in London.

Scott Stringer a tech investor has said Mark Zuckerberg the founder of Facebook should quit from the Facebook board to protect user privacy.

Stringer oversees New York City’s pension fund investments with an almost 1billion dollars stake in the social media platform. The financial officer said an independent chairman for the board was needed to ensure privacy safeguards after revelations that data was harvested from more than 50 million Facebook accounts by Cambridge Analytica.

Senator Dino Melaye to be arraigned on May 10 – Nigerian Police

The Nigeria Police Force says it would arraign Senator Dino Melaye and the four suspects rearrested for alleged conspiracy and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms at the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi on May 10. 

The suspects are: Kabiru Seidu, 31, alias Osama, Nuhu Salisu, 25, alias small, Musa Mohammed, 27, alias Iko and Emmanuel Audu, 26.

Two confirmed dead in auto crash involving wife of Abia state governor's convoy

Two persons have ben confirmed dead in an auto crash involving the convoy of the wife of the Abia state governor, Nkechi Ikpeazu. The accident occurred when the motorcade was returning to Umuahia from Ntigha-Uzor in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia, where the first lady had attended a burial on Tuesday, April 3rd.

According to reports, the Hummer Bus carrying the deceased persons summersaulted thrice when the driver attempted to overtake a vehicle at Ndiolumbe.

Lagos State police on Good Friday, at the Ojuwoye market in the Mushin area of the state, arrested Benjamin Ojukwu, for selling adulterated wines. The suspect, Ojukwu, revealed that he actually learnt how to make wines and hot drinks in China.

“I was in China to learn how to mix and produce wines and hot drinks and when I got back to Nigeria in 2015, I started my own business in Nnewi, Anambra state. I had to relocate to Lagos to start afresh when my factory got burnt,” Ojukwu confessed.

Three schoolboys found man about to jump off bridge and what they did next has made them national heroes

Three schoolboys were on their way home from school when they stumbled upon a suicidal man about to take his life and the boys intervened.

The man was sitting on the edge of an overpass in Waltham Cross, England, with a rope around his neck when Devonte Cafferkey, 13, Sammy Farah, 14, and Shawn Young, 12,  chanced upon him. Rather than panic as most kids their age might, they tried to keep him back from the edge while talking him out of his suicide plan. When the man tried to jump, the boys grabbed on to him and refused to let go.

According to Facebook user, Cecilia Dikibo, the elderly man pictured above was apprehended after he raped a 10 year old girl in Ahoda, a community in Rivers state. The accused is said to be the chairman of the Parents Teachers Association of the Girls School, Ahoada.

Business is booming for the Nigerian racketeers because of soaring demand from the oil-rich middle classes in a country where hi-tech gadgets are relatively scarce.

Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello sustains leg injury while alighting from his official car

According to a statement from the Kogi State Government House, Lokoja on Tuesday, Governor Yahya Bello, sustained a leg injury while alighting from his official car.

The statement said the governor had the minor accident last week Friday, and has since been discharged from the hospital.

"God will deal with you if you don't contest for Presidency in 2019" - Primate Elijah Ayodele warns Bukola Saraki

Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos State, has called on the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to contest for the presidency in 2019 or face the wrath of God.

Ayodele stated this on Saturday, at the dedication of the Emi Ni Aseyori Kan Pro Cathedral, a.k.a. Sope Parish, at the Primate Ayodele Avenue, Isheri-Olofin, Lagos.
