Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello sustains leg injury while alighting from his official car

According to a statement from the Kogi State Government House, Lokoja on Tuesday, Governor Yahya Bello, sustained a leg injury while alighting from his official car.

The statement said the governor had the minor accident last week Friday, and has since been discharged from the hospital.
The statement signed by Director General, Media and Publicity to the governor, Kingsley Fanwo, said that the incident happened at the old market area in Lokoja when the governor was waiting to receive the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

Fanwo said the governor is not incapacitated as rumoured and he has since gone back to his official duties. “We wish to refute rumours that the Governor of Kogi State, Yahyah Bello is either hospitalised or otherwise incapacitated. The governor missed his footing last Friday, March 30, 2018, while alighting from a vehicle and injured his left foot. He was treated by his doctors, who bandaged the leg and discharged him,” the statement read in part.

Bello was however in Abuja, on Tuesday, to attend the APC governors meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
