A Hausa woman has received praise on social media for the stunt she pulled when she found out her husband was taking a second wife.

The wife shocked everyone, her husband included, by sponsoring the event which held in Northern Nigeria. To add to that, she fed the bride at the wedding and did it with a smile on her face. She is now being praised on social media as a strong woman for her actions.

Two teachers jailed over N3million admission scam in Kaduna State

Today, a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kaduna sentenced two teachers, Adams Jibril, 28, and Mohammed Yusuf, 27, to combined 24 months imprisonment for defrauding a man of N3 million. 

The convicts were arraigned on a five-count charge of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, cheating, impersonation and forgery. In her judgment, the Magistrate, Zainab Mohammed, said the prosecution was able to prove the charge of conspiracy, cheating, impersonation and forgery against Jibril.

3-year-old girl raped to death in Kano state

The lifeless body of a 3-year old girl, Khadijah Abubakar Abdullahi, who was declared missing four days ago, was found inside an office at Khairat community school in Walalambe quarters, Nassarawa local government area of Kano state yesterday April 17th with blood stains around her vagina and anus, suggesting that she was raped to death by a yet-to-be identified culprit(s). Khadijah and her friends had gone to the school to meet with her mother who is a teacher there.

21 wedding guests die in India road accident

Police in India confirm that 21 members of a group travelling to a wedding in central India were killed when the small truck in which they were travelling fell off a bridge into a dry river bed today. 

Senior administration official Dilip Kumar said at least 29 others were injured in the accident late Tuesday in Madhya Pradesh state’s Sidhi district. Kumar said the victims, mostly family and friends of the groom, were travelling to the wedding in Pamaria village when their mini-truck swerved off the Jogdaha bridge and fell about 50 to 60 feet down into the Sone river bed.

An Ikeja High Court, Lagos has remanded an alleged member of Aiye Cult group, Adebayo Ahmed in prison custody for allegedly stabbing his neighbour to death over a gay man.

According to reports, 24-year old Ahmed stabbed one Samuel Owawu to death with a broken bottle over a phone belonging to a gay friend of the deceased. Lagos State Prosecuting officer, Monisola Oshibogun said the incident occured on the January 16, 2016 at Oyemekun Bus stop, in Ifako Ijaiye, a suburb of Lagos.

A proxy statement revealed that social media giant, Facebook spent more than $8.8million last year on CEO Mark Zuckerberg's security and personal travel just last year.

Zuckerberg's travel expenses and security detail were included in a report for the United States Security and Exchange Commission before the company's annual shareholders meeting next month. The report showed that $8.8million was used for Zuckerberg's travel and security in 2017 alone. That was on top of the $1 Zuckerberg earned as his salary for the year.

Nigerian Air Force acquires six new helicopters to combat Boko Haram

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has acquired six brand new helicopters, to reinvigorate the nation’s air power. Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who made the disclosure in Abuja, said this was the first time in about 18 years that the NAF will be making such acquisition.

Abubakar made the disclosure at the “winging” ceremony of 12 pilots, who will be deployed to boost the air component of Operation Lafiya Dole in the North-East, and other internal security operations across the country.  “This is the first time in about 18 years that we are acquiring six brand new helicopters for the air force,” the CAS said.
