Pros and Cons of wearing high heels

magaotewublogCons of Wearing Heels
High heels have been present in history since 1500′s when they were footwear for men. Gradually (just the way women do) we took over this trend from guys. Though it was used mainly by butchers to keep their feet away from blood on the ground, women turned this piece to a fashion statement (how awesome are we!)

Heels now come in various sizes and designs. Think of the most bizarre designs, i’m pretty sure there would be something out there like that. But despite the fact that this fashion statement has changed the lives of women around the world, it does have it’s faults.
A new study has shown that making poor decisions about footwear today can result in a high risk of foot problems in the future.
Researchers and doctors alike have concluded that high heels, sandals, and slippers are just some of the reasons why women are much more likely than men to have foot problems when they get older. Here are some pros and cons to consider when buying you next gorgeous heels.

Pros of wearing heels include:

It accentuates our curves at the right place by changing our posture, bringing our chest forward and pushing our waistline back. Giving you that super sexy look you desire.
High heeled shoes when worn improve our heights- becoming taller. This is an advantage especially to shorter women.
Heels make us slimmer by proportioning the body and making the legs longer and firmer.
Heels have a way of boosting a woman’s confidence and poise(if she can walk well in them).
It’s just an awesome fashion must-have accessory.

Cons of wearing heels include;
Aside looking weird while walking in heels without the right body position, it can damage our spine and knees. Knee joint pain increases with 26% while wearing heels, and this only increases, depending on how high the heels are.
Wearing brand new shoes can cause blisters behind your legs and on your toes. It’s advised that you wear the heels indoors a couple of times before the main event.
Foot pains. You know the pain you get after wearing heels for a while and when you just take it off? well after a while, that can cause constant foot ache even when you are not wearing heels.
Risk of sprains, ankle injuries e.t.c. is higher when you wear heels.
The best way to reduce the risk of developing any of these disadvantages is to wear heels that you are comfortable in- get your perfect size and inches that you can walk well in. Keep you back straight, chest out and chin up. Is beauty worth the pain?
