Lawyer says 'FG will produce Nnamdi Kanu in court today'

The resumed hearing on the treason charges filed against the leader of the banned secessionist group, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu and three others, by the Federal government is expected to hold today at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Counsel to Kanu, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, says the Federal government will bring Kanu from where they have been hiding him since the invasion of his home in Umuahia by military officers on September 14th.
The lawyer and family members of the secessionist group leader have accused the military of holding him, an allegation the military has since denied. In an interview with The Cable, Ejiofor who maintains that the Federal government has Kanu in captivity, says he believes that the Federal government will produce him in court today.

“We have filed a suit at the court asking the federal government to produce him in court. It is obvious they will bring him to court tomorrow(today). They are holding him. They know where he is. I am fully convinced they will bring him to court.” he said

There have been speculations that Kanu fled to the UK after the raid of his home.
