Yesterday, we reported the story of former Dream singer, Melissa Schuman who claimed 'Backstreet Boys vocalist, Nick Carter forced her to perform oral sex on him before raping her inside his Santa Monica apartment in 2002.
Schuman in a very lengthy post on her blog, said she was 18 and he was 22 at the time of the alleged assault. She also claimed that the alleged rape made her ' lost interest in pursuing a career as a recording artist'. Read the previous post here.
Reacting to the rape allegation, Nick Carter denied he raped her and claims they had consensual sex.
Read his statement published on TMZ below..
"I am shocked and saddened by Ms. Schuman’s accusations. Melissa never expressed to me while we were together or at any time since that, anything we did was not consensual. We went on to record a song and perform together, and I was always respectful and supportive of Melissa both personally and professionally.”
Carter added, "This is the first that I am hearing about these accusations, nearly two decades later. It is contrary to my nature and everything I hold dear to intentionally cause someone discomfort or harm.”
