James and April’s relationship features in new Channel 4 documentary 'The Sex Robots are Coming', where he admitted to having sex four times a week with the blonde doll, including taking her on dinner dates.
The 58-year-old engineer, who's confused to choose between April and his wife, said his relationship with the Robot began when his wife Tine began caring for her sick mother.
"If I had to choose between April and my wife I honestly don't know what I would do. Every guy has in his head the perfect girl and this is what I see when I look in the mirror.
"Most manufacturers make them look something in the region of 20 years old. For a man of my age, it's a fantasy because I will never be a Brad Pitt or something like that.”
"The sexual aspect of doll ownership is a very small part of it, what you find more pleasure from in the long run is looking after them, dressing them, putting on their make up and interacting with them.
He explains that he 'feels deeply for her, more deeply than I had ever imagined.”
"It's amazingly like having sex with a real woman, the biggest difference is whatever position you want them in you have to put them in, as they will not get there on their own.”
'Doggy style is not a problem, because their backs flex, you put it in whatever position you want. Every guy knows what it is like to slap a woman on the butt.'
James added slapping April on the behind is “not unlike the real thing” and claims she is more than just a “sex toy”.
His wife, Tine said she struggled at first when he started dating the sex doll, but later she had to get over it.
'At first, I got jealous because he spent time with her. I'm not a beautiful woman and these things are beautiful and I was feeling I'm not good enough.
‘And then I realised over time it didn't detract from our relationship. I can actually see why it makes women feel objectified, but when you play with them you realise they are more like a toy or game versus the doll as a substitute for you.'
"If he really wanted to he could have gone out and found someone else but he didn't do that, he was true to me."
Meanwhile, the engineer is now saving up to get his hands on the world’s first sex robot Harmony, who is being designed to talk, smile and react during sex.
She will cost £8,000 when she hits the market in 2018.
