Lagos State Commissioner of Police meets with traditional rulers in Ikorodu to ensure peace is sustained

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, AgCP Edgal Imohimi met with traditional rulers in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State on Tuesday, November 28 to discuss maintaining peace in the area.

The meeting was held at the palace of the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, HRM oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, and in attendance were other traditional rulers and community leaders of Ikorodu.

At the meeting, Imohimi solicited the cooperation of the traditional institutions in Ikoroduland to ensure that the hard won peace in Ikorodu and its environs is sustained. He warned that peace is ephemeral if not nurtured and guarded jealously.

The CP also used the occasion to warn troublemakers to change their ways or be visited with an overwhelming force of the law.

The Oba of Ikorodu on behalf of other traditional rulers at the meeting pledged their continued support for the Police.  He also praised the CP saying that since his assumption of office, calm has been restored to Ikorodu to the extent that many of the cult groups are voluntarily renouncing their membership of the clandestine groups.
