The ceremony, which is now in its third year, took place at Mumbai's Andheri Sports Complex on Sunday 16 December.

Gov Imoke undergoes treatment for chronic kidney disease in the US

Last week, there were rumors that Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State had passed away. However, SaharaReporters was able to determine that Mr. Imoke is in the US where he is receiving regular dialyses for a renal disease.
One source disclosed that Mr. Imoke is staying with relatives in the state of Maryland, near Washington, DC.
“Liyel [Imoke]’s kidneys are in bad condition and he’s undergoing regular dialyses,” said one of our sources.
Another source said the governor maybe undergoing surgery for kidney transplant since he has remained unreachable in the last 48 hours.

Boko Haram Plans To Attack Me - Benue State Governor

The Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam has cried out that members of the Boko Haram sect are planning to attack him.

"Going by security reports available to me, I may be attacked any day, anywhere, anytime and this is the reason I called on you Christians to pray for me and my family".
The Governor, who is a Christian, made this revelation today while addressing members of NKST Church, in Makurdi, the state capital.

He decried a situation in which only four Christians from the north were elected governor of their states.

He said with the demise of Patrick Yakowa in a helicopter crash and the current situation of Governor Danbaba Suntai of Taraba State, only two Christians Governors are now left standing from the north, out of 19 states in the region.

Sullivan Chime is not dead - Enugu State Govt

Enugu state government have debunked the rumours going round that their State Governor, Sullivan Chime, died over the weekend at an Indian hospital where he went to receive treatment for an undisclosed ailment. Sullivan Chime has been away from the helm of affairs in Enugu state since September 2012.

The Enugu state commissioner said the governor is 'hale and hearty' and would soon be returning to the state. He also asked those peddling the death rumours to desist from such.

Wife called in bomb hoax to prevent husband from flying to Paris without her

A Nigerian man was grabbed by police at Newark Airport on Saturday after police were tipped off that he planned to 'blow up' a Delta Airlines flight to Paris.

But authorities now believe that the information, that came from the suspect's wife, was a false accusation following nothing more than a domestic dispute.

The New York Post reports that Eunice Ukaegbu, 50, rang police on Okieze Ukaegbu, 58, because the couple had just had a big fight and she didn’t want him to leave the country without her.
