Retired Exxon Mobil staff whose right hand was chopped off by kidnappers after paying N5 million ransom, celebrates his 63rd birthday (photos)

Dr Idongesit Udom, a retired staff of ExxonMobil and proprietor of Sure Foundation Polytechnic, was kidnapped in Akwa Ibom and later released but with his right hand cut off after paying N5 million ransom.

His son, Ndiana-Abasi Nana Udom shared photos from the birthday celebration, thanking God for delivering his father from the hands of the kidnappers.

Over 200 youths in 2 communities threaten to disrupt Super Eagles' match against Zambia on Saturday

Youths of the two communities, Obio Etoi and Obio Ofot, where the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo is located, have threatened to disrupt the World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Zambia this weekend.

President Muhammadu Buhari appoints Aishah Ahmad as new CBN Deputy Governor

President Buhari has appointed Mrs Aishah Ahmad as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), subject to Senate Confirmation. She is to replace the former Deputy Governor, who retired early this year.

In accordance with the provisions of Section 8(1) (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2007, President Buhari urged the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to consider the expeditious confirmation of Mrs Ahmad, who would then resume work immediately.

FIFA bans Equatorial Guinea from 2019 Women's World Cup

FIFA has banned Equatorial Guinea from the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France for fielding 10 ineligible players and using forged documents  The players all took part in qualifying for the 2016 Olympic women’s tournament in Brazil.

 FIFA has also imposed a fine of $102,000 on the country’s football association.  The two-time champions will not feature at the 2020 Olympics and the next two Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in 2018 and 2020.

The attack carried out by Stephen Paddock, 64, from inside a suite in Mandalay Bay Hotel led to the death of 59 people with over 500 concertgoers still recovering from bullet sustained injuries. Sack told RadarOnline that victims could sue the killer, but considering how many people were affected in the attack, the killer's money couldn't possibly pay them all so they could eventually sue the hotel and also promoters of the concert that was taking place when the attack was carried out.
