His son, Ndiana-Abasi Nana Udom shared photos from the birthday celebration, thanking God for delivering his father from the hands of the kidnappers.
"For by today, we could have been saying, oh our dad who died in the hands of kipnappers would have been 63 years old, but here we are celebrating him alive against the will of the evil men who kipnapped and chopped off his right hand, here we are, still proud of the man who did his best to the entire Udom's family, our father, our hero, our Elder and our king, Elder(Dr.) Idongesit Udom" he wrote.
"When he was kipnapped, i said to my friend that whoever masterminded, whoever witnessed, whoever conspired, whoever was aware and whoever was behind it will not survive and that it will be their last operation on earth, and to the glory of God and the shame of the devil,it truly was, as they are awaiting judgement with their creator as i type this.
"Dear Daddy, Glory be to God that we are not remembering you in death today being your birthday, for you saw death and came back alive, because the hand of God was with you and because mercy said No.....
"Special thanks to His Excellency, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and his dear wife Her Excellency, Deaconess Martha Udom Emmanuel for all they have done for us in this case, this is not forgeting the commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy affairs, Hon Udo Ekpenyong and the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong and every other person who worked so hard to put laughter in our faces during that period.
"We will continue to defeat the devil as our father will remain happy with his children and grandchildren for another 40 years.
"Happy 63rd Birthday Dad, We Love you."
