See inside Donald Trump's $100million penthouse

The president-elect will soon leave his palatial abode on New York's Fifth Avenue to take up residence at the White House. His tastefully furnished $100million pent house at the Trump Towers was decorated in a true billionaire style.

The three-storey property which he developed himself was completed in 1983. The opulent home has breathtaking views of Central Park and over-the-top decor starting with the gold and diamond front door that greets visitors.

Inside is an eccentric scene - floor-to-ceiling marble, chandeliers, pillows bearing Trump's coat of arms, statues and art worth millions of dollars.

It is currently home to Trump, his third wife Melania, 46, and their son Barron, 10. Its posh interior was designed by Angelo Donghia - also referred to as 'the Saint Laurent of sofas'. The designer took inspiration from The Versailles, the largest and most luxurious palace the world had ever seen, built by King Louis XIV of France who led an absolute monarchy from 1643 until 1715.
