Man dies inside a commercial cab in Lagos after he withdrew N100, 200 from an ATM

A middle-aged man identified as Muyibi died inside a commercial cab last week Friday April 6th in Ojota, Lagos state. The man had gone to withdraw N100, 200 from a UBA ATM in Ogudu and was on his way home when he boarded a commercial cab heading to Ojota.

He was found dead after he failed to give the cab driver his money when he was asked to. The cab driver who thought he was sleeping, came down to nudge him so he could wake up and pay him his money since they had gotten to the last busstop. Seeing that the man was not responding, the driver alerted passersby who tried to wake the man up to no avail.

Police officers at the Ogudu police division were alerted. The remains of the man was deposited at the morgue after he was certified dead while the cab was impounded.

Cofirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Chike Oti, said

''The man was on his way to Ojota when he collapsed and died. We recovered the sum of N100,200 from his bag. He also had a phone, which had a new SIM card. There is no contact on the phone and nobody has called him. We have a lead as to where he could be living. His body has been deposited in a morgue for autopsy.
