Mass shooting in a club in Athens, Georgia over the weekend leaves 3 injured

There was another mass shooting in the United States over the weekend but it was overshadowed by the Las Vegas shooting which had more casualties.

Three men were injured on Sunday morning inside Club Venom in Athens, Georgia when one of the patrons opened fire with a handgun.

One of the men was critically injured after being shot once in the chest. He’s in critical condition and has been placed on a ventilator at a local hospital. Another man’s shoulder was grazed by a bullet during the shooting, but his injuries were said to not be life-threatening. A third man was injured when he fell amid the mayhem caused by the shooting and suffered cuts to his legs, according to police.

In a video showing the moment before the commotion started, club goers were seen having fun, singing, and dancing. Then all of a sudden, shots were fired and people screamed and ran in different directions.

Epifanio Rodriguez, spokesman for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, said he knew of no motive for the shooting and did not know if investigators had identified any suspects.
